Welcome to my Chilli Vault. Growing chillies has never been so popular. You get so much more choice than shop bought varieties. Here you will find an ever growing range of chillies. We have the famous Carolina Reaper, the worlds hottest chilli amongst our collection. There are some favourites like the Scotch Bonnet, and more unusual varieties like the Habanero White and the Habanero Chocolate. All have full growing instructions. All are from my own range and are premium quality. We are also pleased to announce our new Chilli Growing Kit. Six types of chilli seeds including the Carolina Reaper. As of October 2023 there is a new King of Chillies. The Pepper x. Grown by Mr Ed Currie, who incidentally also grew the Carolina Reaper. The new chilli registers 2.69 millions of scoville heat units. This variety will not be available to grow. I understand it will appear in sauces etc. Congratulations to Ed.

So, what is in the kit? Six varieties of chilli seeds. Firtsly, the Carolina Reaper, the worlds hottest chilli. This really is volcanic. Measuring up to 2.2 million on the Scoville heat scale, with a fruity, peachy taste. Number two is the Hot Lemon, originaly from Equador, the heat is simmilar to a Cayenne, but it has a very disttinctive flavour. Next is the Tabasco, hugely popular and great in sauces.. Fourth is the Habanero Orange, bright orange, with a sweet fruity flavour. Now we have the Habanero White, unbelievably hot. Up to 600,000 SHUs. Last is the popular Scotch Bonnet, great with jerk chicken and hot sauce. Now for the equipment. We supply large six cell seed trays for sowing. A bag of high quality organic compost. Larger pots for individual sowing and growing on. Zip tie bags to aid germination. A scoville heat scale guide, seed marker and a marker pencil. And of course full instructions. …is a measurement of the level of spiciness or “heat” of chilli peppers. Recorded in Scoville Heat Units (SHU).

Chilli’s benefit from a long growing season, so you can start these off in January. The Apache F1 is a dwarf type, very hot. Normal price £3.00 for 6 seeds. Also known as Ghost Pepper. Originating from the Naga area (Assam, India), it produces extremely hot fruit that have a SHU of 1+ million. The wrinkled, conical shaped fruits mature from green to bright red and are typically 7cm long by 3cm wide, but sometimes the overall size is smaller, depending upon the growing conditions. Needs high temperatures to germinate with the optimum being 27-32oC. Please take care when handling fruit.

Fruits mature from green to red. Scoville rateing 500-1000 shu. £3.00 for six seeds. Fill a pot with dampened starter mix. Place one see quarter inch deep. Water well. When seeds sprout move to heat mat or place in sealed poly bag. Keep moist. Harden off when large enough to go outside. Place in pots 14 inches wide.

A hybrid jalapeno variety, with long slightly tapered fruits that mature from green to red. Fruits typically 7-9 cm in lenghth. Skin features classic Mexican jalapeno scarring. Hot punjent flavour. Sow indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date. Germinate in warm sunny conditions. Can be transplanted outdoors when the soil is warm. Grow in garden or in containers. £2.50 for 10 seeds.
Originally from Equador. The pure lemon yelow fruits have a distinct wrinkled texture. The heat is similar to a cayenne, but with a very different, unique flavour. Sow Jan-Apr. Cover seed lightly. Germination time around 14 days. Grow in pots or in warm soil. £2.00 for 8 seeds.
